Beliefs Contents

Our Beliefs

1. THE BIBLE ONLY

We uphold the principle of Sola Scriptura, asserting that the Bible, both the Old and New Testament, are the sole authority on all matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct. Its infallible nature, inspired by God, provides a complete revelation of His will for humanity. We believe that the sixtysix books of the Bible, regarded as the Word of God, should remain unchanged—neither adding to nor subtracting from their content.

  • Isaiah 40:8. “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.”

  • 2 Timothy 3: 16-17. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction , for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

  • Revelation 22:18-19 .“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city and from the things that are written in this book.”

2. THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD

We believe God is solely the Heavenly Father, the Almighty, the Majesty on high, who is the source from which are all things and the only God we should worship.

  • 1 Corinthians 8:6. “Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things and we in him…”

  • John 17:3. “And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only True God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

  • Ephesians 4:6. “One God and father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

  • James 2:19. “Thou believest that there is in one God; thou doest well, the devils also believe and tremble.”

  • Deuteronomy 6:4. “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, Is one LORD.”

  • Psalm 83:18. "that men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.”

  • Isaiah 26:4. “ Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD Jehovah is everlasting strength.”

NOTE: In the bible LORD (all caps) represents the specific personal name of God, Yahweh, - YHWH (or Jehovah). Which is translated from the Hebrew title Adonai which was used in reverence as Gods specific name was viewed as so Holy it wasn’t to be spoken.

3. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the literal begotten son of God, who came forth from the father before the world began. He is our high priest, our saviour. As the Son of God, Jesus Christ is wholly divine, possessing the very nature of God. When he came to this world, he took upon himself human nature, becoming the mediator between man and God.

  • John 1:18. “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten son, which is in the bosom of the father, he hath declared him.”

  • 1 Timothy 2:5. “For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ.”

  • Hebrews 4:14. “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession."

  • Colossians 1:15. “Is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.”

  • Hebrews 1:3. “who being the brightness of his glory, (glory of God) and the express image of his person and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself urged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high.”

4. THE LORDS DAY OF WORSHIP

We believe that Gods hallowed day of worship, the seventh day, is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday, on which we are to do no work. The Sabbath was established in creation week and will continue in the new heaven and new earth.

  • Exodus 20:8-11. “8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

  • Genesis 2:2-3. “2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”

  • Hebrews 4:9-10. “9. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 .For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief."

  • Isaiah 66:22-23. “22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.”

5. STATE OF THE DEAD

We believe the dead know nothing. Once we die we are resting (sleeping) , returned to dust until Jesus returns, to be raised either to eternal life or receive the penalty of second death.

  • James 4:14. “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little while, and then vanisheth away.”

  • Ecclesiastes 9:5-6. “5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun."

  • Psalm 146:4. "His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. “ 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

  • John 5:28-29. “28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”

  • Revelation 20:12-13. “12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.”

  • Daniel 12:2. "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."

6. INVESTIGATIVE JUDGEMENT AND THE HEAVENLY SANCTURARY

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is our high priest, ministering in the sanctuary. When his work is done, probation closes and the time of tribulation begins for all living on earth.

  • Hebrews 8:1-2. "Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man."

  • Hebrews 9:11-12. "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."

  • Revelation 3:5. "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

  • Matthew 24:21-22. “ 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.”

7. CHRISTS 2nd COMING

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will come again, after the time of tribulation. Every eye shall see him coming from east to west. All of heavens angels are with him, his feet do not touch earth and his saints both living and dead will meet him in the air.

  • Matthew 24: 30-31.” 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. “ 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

  • Revelation 1:7. ”Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

8. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

We believe in the 10 Commandments as written in Protestant bibles such as the King James bible translation.

Four precepts pertaining to Loving God with all our heart mind and soul , six precepts pertaining to loving thy neighbour as thyself.

10 commandments:

  • Exodus 20 :1-17. "And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

1st 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2nd 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

3rd 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

4th 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work.10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

5th 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

6th 13 Thou shalt not kill.

7th 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8th 15 Thou shalt not steal.

9th 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

10th 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s."

  • Ecclesiastes 12:13. "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."

  • Revelation 14:12. ”12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

  • Matthew 22:37-40. "37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandments. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Thus Jesus was saying the law of God, the 10 commandments are foundational to the two commandments Jesus spoke of. Jesus also said in Matthew 5: 17-19 he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfil – pleroo in Greek, which means to bring to realisation – in context of Jesus speaking to the jews it meant teaching the true meaning of the law so it can be properly obeyed."

  • 1 John 3:4. "4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

  • James 2:10. “for whosoever shall keep the whole law; and yet offend in one point ,he is guilty of all.”

  • Acts 3:19. ”Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the LORD.”

9. THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is Gods spirit through Christ that dwells in us. “Spirit” (Pneuma/Ruach) defines breath, life, mind and presence.

  • Romans 8:9-11. “Ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised Jesus up from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

  • 1 Corinthians 3:16. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

  • Matthew 10:20. “For it is not ye who speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.”

  • Galatians 4:6. “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father."

10. PRAYER

We believe in the importance of prayer and that you are to pray directly to GOD, our heavenly father with earnest, humble petitions.

  • Matthew 6:5-13. “ 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

  • Philippians 4:6-7. “6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

11. THE ANTICHRIST/
abomination of desolation

We believe the Antichrist is the papal system, overseen by the pope, who is called the Holy father, and Vicar of Christ.

Pope Leo XIII (13) June 2. 1894 states “We hold upon this earth the place of Almighty God.”

  • The Catholic dictionary states the title Vicar of Christ is used for the Pope as he is the representative for and stands in the place of Christ here on earth.

  • The Papal system is the only system that proudly states it can change scriptural times and laws and ruled for 1260 years from AD538 to 1798 when France abolished Papal government.

  • The Roman Decretalia and Feraris’ Prompta Bibliotheca contend that the Pope holds the power to alter times, abrogate laws and interpret diving commands.

  • The Catholic Record September 1, 1923 stated “Sunday is our mark of authority… The church is above the bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact”.

  • Chancellor Thomas (1895) states the move to Sunday is a” mark of her ( meaning church) ecclesiastical power and authority.”

  • “Protestants…accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change..But the protestant mind does not seem to realize that.. in observing Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church, the pope. Our Sunday Visitor, February 5, 1950."

Bible verses that speak of the Antichrist include:

  • Daniel 7:25. "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

  • Daniel 12:11. "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days."

  • Mark 13:14. "But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:"

12. DANIEL 11

We believe Daniel 11 is a literal representation of history and that verse 45 is describing TURKEY.

The first 35 verses of Daniel 11 outline over 300 years of history following Daniel’s time with such accuracy that they act as a literal historical record from Cyrius the great (medo Persia) through Alexander the great (Greece) and the subsequent struggles between Ptolemies(south) and Seleucids(north).

Contextual and linguistic evidence:

“And now I will show you the truth” (Dan 11:2): This introduction sets the stage for a straightforward, accurate account of future history, not a symbolic vision, notes.

Fulfilled Prophecy as Proof: Because the detailed predictions of the first 35 verses came to pass exactly as predicted, it is logical to interpret the remaining verses (36–45) literally as well, often viewing them as a “dual fulfilment” or “near/far” prophecy regarding an end-time figure.

Why verse 45 is considered Turkey – when we look at geographical succession as Daniel 11 is a literal chapter verses a symbolic chapter, the King of the North is the power occupying the northern region of Alexander’s divided kingdom. According to history the ottoman empire (later Turkey) controlled this region.

When Alexander's Empire was divided, the north south east and west kingdoms were based on where they lay from the standpoint of Palestine, the native land of the prophet.

During  wars and revolutions, geographical boundaries were frequently changed or obliterated...but whatever change might occur, these forst divisions of the empire must determine the names which the portion of the territory should ever after bear, or we have no standard by which to test the prophecy. That is, whatever power at anytime should occupy the territory which at first constituted the kingdom of the north, that power so long as it occupied that territory would be the king of the north.

Thus as the time of writing this, Turkey is based in the territory which constitutes the kingdom of the North. ( Smith U. 1893 Daniel and revelation pg 102)

13. SAINTS

We believe that anyone who truly believes in the sonship and life of Christ and live their life according to the will of God, as found in scriptures, will enter the kingdom of God. Being “born again” is the moral change shaped by turning away from sin (repentance) and walking in a Christ like manner.

Baptism by immersion is the public ordinance by which we commemorate the resurrection of Christ and demonstrate our desire to follow God.

  • John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

  • Matthew 7:21. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

  • Acts 2:38. “Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

  • John 3:3. “Jesus answered him, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.’”

  • John 5:24. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

14. BY GRACE AND NOT BY WORKS (Righteousness by faith)

We believe Jesus, the son of GOD died to save us from our sins, however by obeying the 10 commandments and doing good deeds, it is demonstrating our loyalty and love for GOD, while acknowledging we are saved by Grace alone.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9. "By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."

  • Romans 3:24. “And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

  • Galatians 2:16. “Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ…”

  • Matthew 25:31-46. "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink. 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."

15. LIVING THE WAY GOD WANTS US TO LIVE

We believe that bible guides us as to what to eat, what to wear, how we should live i.e what we should do on a daily basis. Things not mentioned in scriptures which the world participates in, including birthdays, Easter, Christmas and Halloween are manmade traditions/ customs and practices and before Jesus returns his saints are encouraged to return to a simple life with our focus on God, not the world.

  • James 4:4. “…know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

  • Matthew 6:24. "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

  • Romans 12. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

  • 1 Timothy 2:9. "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;"

  • 1 Peter 3:3-4. “Those adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

  • Deuteronomy 14:3-21. "3 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. 4 These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, 5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois. 6 And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat. 7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. 8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase. 9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: 10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you. 11 Of all clean birds ye shall eat. 12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, 13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind, 14 And every raven after his kind, 15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, 17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant, 18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. 19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. 20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat. 21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself."
